Former Russian figure skater Betina Popova complained of an unhappy childhood due to sports. She wrote about this in her account on Instagram.
According to the skater, she was a crazy fanatic of her business, so she did not have enough time for friends, entertainment, or first love. In addition, the trainers cultivated in her head only three thoughts: “training, study, do not eat.”
Popova also noted that athletes quickly grow up, they have no childhood and youth, because of which they grow up unbalanced personalities. “Sport is not only the brilliance of medals and pedestals, it is thousands of broken children,” added the skater.
23-year-old Popova is the silver medalist of the Russian Junior Championships, the winner of the bronze medal of the Junior Grand Prix final and the winner of the Universiade in ice dancing. The athlete decided to end her career in February of this year.
