German coach Thomas Tuchel said he enjoys competing in 3 different competitions in the midst of a busy schedule with which he does not have the luxury to breathe.
Chelsea are still competing in the FA Cup and the Champions League, and the London club played eight matches in April after the international break last month, and played a match in the middle of each week.
Tuchel, who previously coached Paris Saint-Germain, told reporters, “It is a very tough schedule. We played in France the same amount of matches … but of course there are big differences between the two competitions in terms of the size of the challenges and the strength of the competition.”
He added, “We play in other levels without relentlessness … We do not have the luxury of taking a breath, relaxing and resting.”
It is noteworthy that “Chelsea”, fourth in the Premier League, will face his rival “Fulham” in the West London summit match today, Saturday, as he sets his eyes on the Champions League semi-final second leg match against Real Madrid on Wednesday, noting that the two teams tied the first leg. 1-1 in Madrid.
Tuchel, who trails fifth West Ham by 3 points, said: “Fulham is a good opportunity to maintain this advantage in the league. I know the match comes in the midst of two Champions League semi-final encounters. It is an extraordinary week, but I am happy that the moment has come to prove our ability to focus. “
