The Sports Report: Sometimes the best trades are the ones you don't

Despicable, I am your host, Houston Mitchell. Sometimes the trades you do not do is the most important.

Remember the 31 July trade deadline and how many Dodgers fans were unhappy that the team was not doing more to Pittsburgh Pirates to get closer Felipe Vazquez? How some of them thought the Dodgers blew the opportunity they had to win it by refusing to take them into account Gavin Lux in trade. Well, the non-trade looks good today.

Vazquez Tuesday was arrested on felony charges including statutory sexual assault and child seek, and was placed on administrative leave by Major League Baseball.

Pennsylvania State Police in Vazquez's custody were taken on one count of “computer pornography / child prospecting” and one count on “providing obscene material for minors,” both maronies, arising from an investigation in Florida. He was subsequently charged in Westmoreland (Pa.) County for a felony count of a statutory sexual assault, an unlawful contact with a minor and minor corruption and an indecent assault on a person under 16 years of age.

The Florida Law Enforcement Department announced that it had begun to investigate Vazquez's relationship with a 15-year-old girl in August. The agency was informed that Vazquez started a sexual relationship with her when she was 13 years old. The girl received a text message from Vazquez in July when he was sexually active. Vazquez also texted the girl to ask if she wanted to come together for sexual contact after the end of the season, according to police.

Vazquez was arraigned through video from Allegheny County prison and was denied for bail, and the judge said she believed Vazquez was a flight risk.

If the charges are true, then Vazquez can say goodbye to his baseball career, and goodwill.

Alyssa Thomas There were 22 points and 10 reversals in 84-75 win over the Sparks which gave Connecticut 1-0 a result of their WNBA semifinal series. Candace Parker scored 24 points and Nneka Ogwumike 20 were at the sparks.

The Sparks traveled about 11 points in the first half but they came back to take half-time to take 40-37 with Parker and Ogwumike by amalgamating for a first 25 points.

Connecticut opened the third quarter with a 12-2 run – with three directions – to make it 49-42. The sparks fought back but they did not guide more than one point the rest of the way. 19 turnover hindered them.

“We can't turn the ball over 19 – it's high for us,” said Parker.

“We beat the ball even better than them, but they won the game,” coach Derek Fisher said. “At the end of the day we need to find out how to restrict our rotations.

Helene Elliott on the Chargers: Reviewing the tape ChargersStumbles and fumbles by Detroit Sunday Coach confirmed everything Anthony Lynn I had seen but he wanted it was not. The wars that were lost, addressed, errors of experience, and virtual revocation t Philip RiversAnd the double cover wearing into a double envelope and into the lions corner arms Darius Slay in the latter zone late in the fourth quarter, it was passed before Lynn's apology, without looking better at a reconsideration than when he was living.

“You can't win in this series when you make those mistakes. We did for any reason, ”Lynn said. “The good news is that everything is corrected.”

For a man who was reporting good news, his wise was to be communicated. There was no way to lose a game of sugar coat his team should have been worthy not to have too star worthy.

“Whenever you keep a team in their house on the road on the road to 13 points,” he said, “you should win that game.” T

The Lions were able to be struck, but the Bears – who won all seven regular season games played outside California last season and lost on the road during the regular season were only able to hit the Rams in the Choliseum – put them away.

Another horse died on Santa Anita.

Less than two weeks before the start of the most important race meeting in Ireland History of Santa Anita, Monday was killed during the Arcadia trail.

Zeke, Jelly 4 years of age trained by Dean Pederson, who has been diagnosed with a pelvic fracture after he has been drawn up while working on the training road, which is considered to be the safest surface at Santa Anita. Veterinarians only tried to save the horse at 11 p.m. He decided that euthanasia was the best option.

“Everyone at Santa Anita and across The Stronach Group has been destroyed by the loss,” said Dr. Dionne Benson, a primary veterinarian The Stronach Group, owned by Santa Anita. “We are carefully reviewing what factors may cause Zeke's injury. Santa Anita will continue to work closely with the California Horse Racing Board and will continue to be transparent with all our stakeholders and partners, including the public, as more facts come in. ”

Before Monday's death, there were 1,034 workouts without incident, officials said. Santa Anita opened for training after Del Mar Mar summer has been closed and racing to move to Los Alamitos.

Benson said that UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine would take a photocopy, a mandatory procedure for all on-line accidents. The California Horse Racing Board will then review the accident and necropsy reports.

This moment comes from Erik Schuman of the Fountain Valley: t

The most memorable moment I had recently played. On Sunday, September 8, 2019, I attended a Dodgers-Giants match at Chavez Ravine with my nephew, the youngest niece, the brother and sister's spouse. It was 1 p.m. game so I made sure I find seats in the shade. This was the first time Dodgers' game saw everyone but my brother and I. This game was special because on 22 February I received a diagnosis of Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. I was declared cancer-free on 20 May and I finished the last of my chemo treatment on 23 July. Process I saw going from 190 muscular pounds to 155 pound garden, which lost all the hair on my body and suffered all of the bad side effects that cause loss of flakes and rust and persistent fatigue.

It was the first time I was going out of the house for anything other than related visits from around Valentine's Day. I live in the Fountain Valley and so I often don't attend Dodgers' home games though I was a fan for about 45 years, since Grandpa George gave me a game ever. As I approach the parking lot, walking into the stadium, looking at the pitch and doing the game for me, I realized the lucky I had to become a survivor of cancer – not a victim.

It was great that the Dodgers won 5-0 but even if they had lost 50-0 but were able to attend a game and eat a Dodger dog after all I went with family members who helped me beat take a cancer something I never forget. . At the time of writing, I am given tears that understand my fortune and how this is a game that I will never forget.
