The terrace of Angelo’s restaurant is gone, indicate our colleagues from RTL. Indeed, a brief thunderstorm accompanied by strong winds once again hit the Mons region, this Friday afternoon around 4 p.m. It caused damage, certainly not very heavy, but nonetheless, on the terrace of the Italian restaurant “Pane e Olio”, chemin du Chêne-aux-Haies in Mons. “I was expecting twelve people on the terrace this Friday and I had to warn my customers that I had to cancel everything,” laments Angelo, the boss. “It will unfortunately be the same for this Saturday because I have no replacement equipment”.
The arbor at the neighbor’s house
The restorer had however firmly anchored the arbor, but the ropes broke under the violence of the wind, carrying the canvas … to the neighbor. The dishes that were already in place were obviously broken. The boss estimates the damage at around 2,000 euros.
“The big problem is also the merchandise – and all the work behind it – that cannot be sold,” he adds. “But we will bounce back, as we did with the Covid! Here, I will do everything to be able to honor the reservations for next week… ”
Optimistic by nature, Angelo promised to see his clients again in a short time …
