Theme day on February 9th in the Open Channel

GIESSEN – The international “Safer Internet Day” (SID) has been taking place every February since 2004, this time on Tuesday, February 9th. Over the years, the day of action has established itself as an important part of the calendar of all those who are committed to online safety and a better Internet for children and young people. The media project center Offener Kanal Gießen will be there as always and will participate with a theme day on its station. Selected articles on all aspects of cell phone and internet security can be seen. The main focus is on social media apps and messenger services such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Threema & Co., but also conspiracy theories in Corona times.

The four and a half hour block of broadcasts begins with a report on the planned copyright reform, which will result in far-reaching changes for Youtubers and bloggers. The block will be broadcast from 10 a.m., 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. on the Gießen Open Channel (cable channel 391) and is also available as a live stream on the MOK website at www.mok-giessen.de to see.
