Hipra, which is a veterinary pharmaceutical company specialized in the research, production and commercialization of Animal Health products, foresees start clinical trials of its vaccine next June, start production in October and manufacture 400 million doses during 2022.

Hipra, in the Girona town of Amer, and has ensured that the project of the pharmaceutical company to develop a vaccine against the coronavirus is one of the most “hopeful” to achieve a Spanish drug this same 2021.
How is the vaccine
In a statement, the firm has advanced that the vacuna ‘HIPRA SARS-CoV-2’ it is “a recombinant protein vaccine that has been designed to optimize its safety and induce a powerful neutralizing immune response to the Covid-19 virus.”
Likewise, the company has announced that it is a vaccine that it will be stored between 2 and 8ºC, which will facilitate its logistics and distribution.
Pharmaceutical specialists have considered the various vaccination scenarios, the effectiveness against different variants “and the more than probable need for revaccination doses.”

400 million doses in 2022 and 1.2 billion in 2023
Hipra hopes that the clinical trials, which will begin in June, will culminate successfully in order to start production in October of this year, with the aim of launching its commercialization by the end of 2021.
According to Hipra’s current projections, 400 million doses are expected to be produced during 2022 and 1.2 billion doses could be reached by 2023.
Likewise, the project foresees a investment plan of 472 million euros until 2026 and the direct creation of 580 highly qualified jobs.
Remember that Hipra ranks sixth in the world ranking of vaccines for animal health and it is the laboratory that has launched the most innovative and technological vaccines in the last ten years, with a total of 22.
Vaccination forecasts in Spain
Pedro Sánchez has announced in recent days that the vaccination rate will accelerate during this month of April and has explained what the forecasts are for the coming months. “Each month we will improve the next, we will advance and we will fulfill the objectives that we have set ourselves.
Spain plans to have five million Spaniards vaccinated with the complete guideline in the week of May 3. In the first week of June the goal is to reach 10 million, and 15 million people vaccinated in the week of June 14.
In addition, let us remember that Sánchez has also announced that, in the week of July 19, it is expected that 25 million people will be vaccinated and that 70% of the population, that is, 33 million people are vaccinated with the complete guideline at the end of August.
