Parade boats full of flowers, vegetables and fruits from the Westland sailed today for the first time across the canals of The Hague to the Varend Corso.

Forty participating ships entered The Hague on the fourth day of the event. According to Omroep West, thousands of people stood on their tails.

Alderman Arjen Kapteijns of The Hague: “I think a lot of people don’t realize what kind of greenhouse area in our yard. Making it visible alone makes it a valuable event.”

This is the first time that parade boats have made their way through the city. It is a long-cherished desire of the organization to show the link between The Hague and the Westland, the regional broadcast writes.

This has not been possible in recent years due to subsidy issues and the Corona crisis. However, the municipality saw something in mind to bring Varend Corso to The Hague and provide a one-time grant of 25,000 euros.
