Luding County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province experienced three consecutive earthquakes this morning (26), one of which was 5.6 on the Richter Scale with a focal depth of 11 kilometers.
According to China Central Television, the earthquake occurred at 3:49 am, and was strongly felt in the city of Moxi, Luding County, which is located at the epicenter. Chengdu, which is 223 kilometers away from the epicenter, felt strong. After the earthquake, both Hailuogou Scenic Area and Ganzi Prefecture sent people to Moxi City to investigate.
According to the China Earthquake Network, two aftershocks of 4.5 and 3.2 occurred at 3:50 and 4:30 after the earthquake.
A 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck Ganzi on September 5 last year, killing 46 people.
