Ticks attack Long Island City where they reside Dominicans

NY.- Infections transmitted by ticks reached “epidemic proportions” in the city of long Island , distant place 86 kilometers from Manhattan and where hundreds of Dominicans reside.

It was reported that mites when sting cause disease Lyme , A bacterial infection that spreads through the bite, which harbors babesia and anaplasma, attacks red blood cells and can cause headaches, fatigue, fever and chills.

The researcher Jorge Benach explained that this disease is causing havoc in the health of children mainly.

New York has the highest number of cases of this disease in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which has cataloged more than 95,000 infections Lyme in the state since 1986.

The cases in Suffolk, long Island , range between 500 and 700 affected, it was reported.
