Washington After complaints against the “New York Times” and the “Washington Post”, the campaign team of US President Donald Trump also takes legal action against the US television station CNN. A lawsuit has been filed against the broadcaster for defamatory reporting, Trump’s election campaign said on Friday.

The broadcaster knowingly released “false and defamatory statements” regarding the Russia affair, the lawsuit filed on Friday in a Atlanta court released by Trump’s campaign team.

The background is the results of an investigation by FBI special investigator Robert Mueller, who had investigated whether there were secret agreements between Trump’s team and representatives of Russia in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election – he found no evidence for this. Trump’s campaign accuses several media of claiming that this type of collaboration existed.

The president’s campaign team had previously filed similar lawsuits against the New York Times and the Washington Post. Trump is publicly keen on media that report critically about him. It is new that legal action is now being taken against them.
