NICOSIA, Cyprus – Police in the northern part of Cyprus, divided by two ethnic groups, said the bodies of three people were found in riverbeds in two different places, after sudden floods had washed away.
The Turkish Cypriot press agency, TAK, quoted by the police, reportedly said on Thursday that the authorities were looking for a car near the place where a body was found south of the Kyrenia town. They fear that three other people have been passengers.
Torrential rains over the past four days have hit the small island nation of the eastern Mediterranean, causing floods and some power outages.
Turkish Cypriot media reported that authorities closed all schools on Thursday, with the weather service providing more rain.
