Beijing – Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinopharm said on Friday that two experimental anti-Covid vaccines have already been administered to nearly one million people.
“Our vaccines have been inoculated to nearly a million people and we have not had any feedback reporting serious adverse reactions,” Liu Jingzhen, president of Sinopharm, told the group’s website.
According to the company, none of the people receiving these vaccines have been infected with Covid-19, despite the fact that they have traveled “to more than 150 countries”.
China, where the new coronavirus was first spotted at the end of 2019, currently has four vaccines in phase 3 of human trials.
The president of the company, Liu Jingzhen, assured that his group is “at the forefront of the world” in the development of anti-Covid vaccines.
Chinese President Xi Jinping promised that any vaccine produced by a company in his country would become “a global public good”, which would be made accessible to developing countries.
