Those infected by the coronavirus in four regions of northern Italy already exceed one hundred, after confirming 89 cases in Lombardy and 25 in Veneto, and two cases have been reported in Venice.
The president of the Lombardy region, Attilio Fontana, confirmed this Sunday in a radio interview that the cases have risen to 89, including that of a 17-year-old resident in Valtellina, an Alpine town, but studying at an institute of Codogno, the town where it is believed that the contagion began.
For his part, the president of the Veneto region, Luca Zaia, reported 25 cases and noted that two infected by the coronavirus have been registered in Venice, who are admitted to the San Giovanni e Paolo hospital.
Zaia explained that of the 25 cases, 19 have occurred in Vo ‘Euganeo, in the province of Padua (Veneto), where the first mortal victim was registered, a 78-year-old man.
The president of this region was worried and announced “very strict” measures to limit contagion and not only in Vo ‘Euganeo but also in Venice where Carnival could be canceled.
At the moment, there are two infections in Emilia Romagna, which are joined in Rome by the two Chinese tourists and the Italian researcher evacuated from Wuhan, although the latter was discharged.
