DUBAI said (Reuters) – The Arab United Arab Emirates congratulated Sudan after the military council and opposition were dealing with power-sharing and said it would stand up to Khartoum in “good times and bad times”, Foreign Minister Anwar Gargash said.

“We hope that the next step will be underpinned by a constitutional system that will strengthen the role of institutions with wide national and popular support,” said Gargash in a Twitter post on Friday.

The rich state of the Saudi Gulf is a key supporter of the Sudanese authorities and has a major influence in the country.
