Merdeka.com – The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) reported that currently the number of cases of acute hepatitis in Indonesia has reached 70 as of Thursday (23/6). Of these, 30 cases are still being investigated by the Ministry of Health.
“We have removed 40 of the 70 cases of hepatitis, so now we are investigating 30 cases,” said Ministry of Health spokesman Mohammad Syahril at an updated press conference on the number of virtual cases of acute hepatitis, Friday (24/6 ).
Syahril said the number of cases of acute hepatitis has spread in 21 provinces. DKI Province Jakarta is the area with the most cases. However, the latest data on the number of cases of acute hepatitis have not been submitted in Jakarta.
Meanwhile, Syahril said, total acute hepatitis can be classified into three categories, namely probable, pending, and discarded. 16 cases of hepatitis have probable status, then 14 cases are pending and 40 are discarded.
“40 cases were dropped because they knew the cause, so he was excluded (on suspicion of the mysterious hepatitis),” he said.

Guidelines for managing cases of acute hepatitis
The World Health Organization (WHO) has provided advice regarding the definition of mysterious acute hepatitis cases in children, including abandonment, where hepatitis A, B, C, D and E viruses have been detected or other etiologies have been detected.
Another definition may be pending classification, because it awaits laboratory results for hepatitis AE. SGOT / SGPT (liver inflammation) above 500 IU / L, patients under 16 years old.
In addition, the definition of Epi-linked, where non-hepatitis AE virus, all ages, or close contacts and is likely as of October 1, 2021.
The closest mysterious definition of acute hepatitis is likely, as laboratory results of non-hepatitis AE show, SGOT / SGPT above 500 IU / L, age under 16 years and cases occurring since October 1, 2021.
