NEW YORK (Reuters) – Of dozens of confirmed coronavirus cases in the United States, only one patient is still in the hospital, said U.S. Vice President Mike Pence on Friday.

“In any case, people are being treated and in all respects they are doing well,” he said during a press conference streamed live with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

In total, there have been 15 confirmed cases in the United States, with another 46 cases involving people who have returned to the country from abroad and have been placed in quarantine.

That number is one less than the most recent update of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday of 47 total cases returning from foreign countries.

A CDC spokeswoman was not immediately available to explain the different numbers.

About 47,000 people were screened on return to the country through airports, Pence said.

Before the discovery of a woman with coronavirus in California earlier this week, there had been no new cases in two weeks, Pence said.
