The first team football mission at Al-Ahly club celebrated the team’s qualification to the semi-finals of the African Champions League, after a 1-1 draw with Sun Downs in the second leg that was held today at Lucas Moribi Stadium.

Esperance managed to overthrow the Algerian team, JS Belouizdad, with a penalty shootout from the penalty spot, after Belouizdad won the first leg with two goals without a response, and Esperance won the return with the same score, so that the two teams ruled for the penalty shootout from the penalty point that awarded the qualifying card to the Tunisian champion.

Al-Ahly delegation will leave South Africa tomorrow on its way to Qatar, in preparation for the match against Nahdet Berkane for the African Super Cup.
