WATCH: The era of land seizure is over, Mnangagwa tells White at a rally in Harare

Zimbabwe's president seeks to mobilize white minority voters as the race in this month's historic elections falls short.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa said to a meeting in the capital, Harare, that the conquest of white farmers is over. The land grabbers under former leader Robert Mugabe were deeply unpopular and contributed to the economic collapse of the once prosperous country.

Only 3% separate the former Mugabe from deputy Mnangagwa and leading opposition opponent Nelson Chamisa, according to a recent survey by the Afrobarometer research group. Between June 25 and July 6, 2 400 voters were interviewed across the country.

The campaign before the vote on July 30, the first without Mugabe since independence, was peaceful, but the opposition fears possible fraud and the role of the military. [19659006] Sights of Mnangagwa's "White's Interface Rally" at the Borrowdale Racecourse in Harare! pic.twitter.com/Cj1SScJ75q
