According to Sládek, the hospital “is the only one to accept positive covid patients from the whole region and is in a state that it can no longer afford to admit standard patients to the ARO ward, but only those with coronavirus,” he described the hospital’s situation.
He also warned that if a large part of the hospital’s staff became infected, its operation would have to be curtailed. He therefore called on the public to behave responsibly.
“Avoid events involving a large number of people and do not ridicule the situation with words about bullying and ‘flu’. Don’t underestimate her, she is really serious, “added the director, who is running in the Senate elections as an independent candidate for the ODS with the support of other parties.
The anaesthesiology and resuscitation department of the hospital has a capacity of eight beds, of which five are currently occupied. According to the director Sládek, four patients are in a very serious condition with artificial lung ventilation.
“Patients who are brought in by the ambulance service and need resuscitation care are primarily directed to other hospitals in the region. Patients whose health deteriorated during their stay in the Uherské Hradiště hospital are admitted to the surgical and internal ICU, where we provide them with full resuscitation therapy, ”he added to the current condition.
There are currently 184 active cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the Uherské Hradiště district. In the region, similarly to Prague and Central Bohemia, special measures are taken by hygienists, so restaurants and bars must therefore remain closed between midnight and 6:00 am.
