In Suriname from Sunday 29 August it is also possible to be vaccinated with the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. The first Pfizer vaccines will be administered in the hall of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KKF) in Paramaribo.

The vaccine is also suitable for young people from 12 years old. This group will have to report with a parent/guardian up to the age of 17, who must also have identification and family book with them. From the age of 18 only identification is required.

The Pfizer vaccine arrived in Suriname this month after the Surinamese government received more than 140,000 doses of the vaccine from the US.

It also became clear on Friday that the vaccine is necessary: ​​234 new infections were registered after 650 tests (36%). Two more people have also died from the effects of infection with the corona virus.
