The Steam Autumn Sale began on October 1, 2026, offering thousands of discounts across AAA and indie titles, with many seeing price drops between 50% and 80%. PC gamers had been awaiting the event, which features deep cuts across nearly every genre. While the Valve storefront provides significant savings, a competing offer from GOG allows players to acquire a complete Western adventure entirely for free.
The Steam event runs until October 8 at 19:00, featuring a revamped homepage that allows users to filter by franchise, genre, and price. The system also sends automatic notifications regarding savings for titles on users’ wishlists. To counter the cost of discounted games, GOG is offering the title Bounty Train for free for a 72-hour window.
Bounty Train Free Giveaway
Bounty Train is a mixture of management, strategy, and Western adventure set in 19th-century North America. Players manage and develop a train, recruiting crew and transporting passengers and goods while managing resources. The gameplay includes non-linear campaigns and interactions with four major factions in real American cities. Players can explore these cities, trade, and involve themselves in historical events.
The experience involves dealing with threats such as bandits, raids, and technical failures. Players can resolve conflicts through diplomacy, bribery, or force. The game allows users to upgrade their train into a mobile fortress and change their allegiances if necessary.
Mirror Drops to Historic Low Price
Among the thousands of discounts, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst reached a historic low according to SteamDB, dropping 95% from $20 to approximately $1. The 2016 action-adventure title follows Faith, a courier fighting large corporations in the futuristic city of Glass. A German test by GameStar awarded the game 80 out of 100 points, praising its precise controls, distinct visual style, and smooth parkour system, though it noted simple melee combat and unintelligent AI. The game is also playable on Steam Deck.
Despite a 79% positive rating from roughly 16,600 users, some recent reviews criticize the requirement of a linked EA account and the EA App for access. These reports indicate that the separate launcher continues to cause access and startup issues.
