The municipality’s police were notified that armed men traveling in a truck fired at the occupants of another vehicle on Avenida de las Américas in the Benito Juárez colony. The driver of a compact car, Héctor "N," was pronounced dead at the scene, while his companion, Luis Alfonso "N," was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
State and federal forces swiftly responded to the attack and initiated a search for the suspects, who managed to escape the area. The pursuit led to another incident in the Amistad colony, where civilians in a white Nissan Versa exchanged fire with pursuing federal forces along Avenida José Vasconcelos.
In the crossfire, two men were injured, including a minor named César Alejandro "N." Both were hit by stray bullets. One of the victims was inside his home, which sustained multiple gunshot impacts, along with a nearby public bus. Authorities recovered an undisclosed number of weapons from the abandoned Nissan Versa but did not apprehend the suspects.
