Ukraine Welcomes New Ambassadors from China, Saudi Arabia, and Serbia
President Volodymyr Zelensky has welcomed new ambassadors from China, Saudi Arabia, and Serbia as they commence their diplomatic missions in Ukraine.
"Today, we are opening new diplomatic chapters with China, Saudi Arabia, and Serbia," Zelensky said. In separate meetings, the president congratulated each ambassador and engaged in productive discussions, expressing his eagerness to strengthen bilateral relations.
Zelensky’s Meeting with the Chinese Ambassador
Zelensky thanked China for supporting Ukraine’s territorial integrity. He emphasized the importance of enhancing relations and rebuilding trade volumes lost due to the war. The president also brought up North Korea‘s involvement in the conflict and conveyed Ukraine’s hope for a strong Chinese voice on the matter.
The new Chinese Ambassador, Ma Shenkuang, presented his credentials to Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Yevhen Perebiynis on November 21, officially beginning his diplomatic mission. Ma previously served in various roles within the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including in Geneva and Vienna.
Zelensky’s Meeting with the Saudi Arabian Ambassador
Zelensky expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia for its energy, humanitarian, and diplomatic support, including assistance in freeing Ukrainian prisoners of war and deported children. He highlighted Ukraine’s pressing need for help in rebuilding its energy infrastructure.
Zelensky’s Meeting with the Serbian Ambassador
The president thanked Serbia for its financial and humanitarian assistance and underlined the significance of regular dialogue with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić. Zelensky also reiterated Ukraine’s hope for continued military support from Serbia in its fight for peace.
