Bogor’s Road Rage: Two ‘Pak Ogah’ Puncak Bogor Suspects in Pummeling Incident
In an escalating road rage incident on the alternative Puncak Bogor route, two ‘Pak Ogah’ individuals are now suspects after a viral video showed them assaulting a motorist. The incident, which initially seemed to end peacefully, took a turn when the wife of the victim was potentially exposed to miscarriage, prompting the victim to pursue legal action.
The Incident Unfolds
The video shows the victim, IH, driving his car before an altercation occurred. IH, feeling frustrated, got out of his car and approached the ‘Pak Ogah’ group. A friendly exchange turned physical, with the ‘Pak Ogah’ assisting in a beating of the motorist. The video concluded with IH’s wife intervening and being pushed back by the assailants.
A Failed Attempt at Reconciliation
Initially, things seemed to cool down. IH and his wife filed a police report, and the three ‘Pak Ogah’ were temporarily detained. A peaceful settlement was brokered between the parties, with a signed statement of understanding. However, the victim’s wife’s health complications revoked their agreement.
Miscarriage Fears and Legal Action
Subsequently, the victim’s wife received medical attention and was diagnosed with a potential miscarriage. Distraught by this news, the victim decided to press charges. "Initially, we thought the case was settled amicably, but the victim’s wife suffered a miscarriage, which redirected the case back to the police," explained the investigating officer, AKP Teguh Kumara.
Two Suspects Arrested, Third Still at Large
In response, the police promptly arrested two suspects, R and J, who are currently in custody. They are charged under articles 170 and 335 of the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP), which pertain to physical assault and threats. A third suspect is still at large, and the police urge him to surrender spontaneously.
Possible Imprisonment and Public Appeal
If convicted, the two suspects could face up to five years in prison. Kapolres Bogor AKBP Rio Wahyu Anggoro emphasized, "The maximum penalty for this crime is five years in prison." Meanwhile, the police are actively searching for the remaining suspect, publicly urging him to turn himself in voluntarily.
