Ukraine Warns of Imminent Drone Threat in Southern Regions
In a series of late-night alerts, Ukraine’s military warned of an impending drone threat in the southern regions, specifically targeting the Nikolaev and Odesa areas. Here’s a timeline of the developments:
23:43 – The military reported a potential threat of enemy strike drones in the Nikolaev region.
23:51 – A subsequent announcement stated, "Odesa region – threat of enemy strike drone use."
00:12 (28 December) – The military updated the situation, noting that enemy strike drones were moving northwards from the south of the Nikolaev region. Residents of Ochakiv were urged to seek shelter.
Later – The military reported the movement of an enemy strike drone towards Nikolaev from the south.
02:46 – The military announced the all-clear, stating that the threat from enemy strike drones had been neutralized in the affected regions.
Reminder: Russian forces have been actively deploying strike drones, including Iranian ‘Shahed’ models (marked as ‘Geran’ by the Russian military), in their aerial attacks against Ukraine.
Last night, the enemy launched dozens of drones for another attack. Ukrainian air defense forces successfully shot down 13 drones, with another 11 drones being lost due to jamming without causing any damage.
