Residents of Asker Neighborhood Harassed by Elusive ‘Gnome-costumed’ Individual
OSLO — Residents of a quietAsker neighborhood have been grappling with an unusual intruder over the past few weeks—a person clad in a gnome costume. The Oslo Police District has confirmed these incidents in their latest police log.
The individual has been ringing doorbells and swiftly departing, according to operations leader Sven Martin Ege. In some instances, the ‘gnome’ has relieved himself in residents’ yards, causing distress among the community, particularly among children who find the figure frightening.
The gnome’s appearances were concentrated in the area last Friday, with reports of him visiting several homes. Since then, police have initiated a search but have yet to apprehend the elusive figure. They are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Lead investigator Ege noted, "We’re unaware of the motivation behind this person’s peculiar behavior. We’re eager to understand why they’re acting this way and causing distress to the residents."
Neighbors have taken it upon themselves to share images of the gnome in a private Facebook group, with the first report logged at 18:08. The group has been abuzz with discussions and shared concerns about the mysterious gnome.
