Breaking: Two Rescued, Three Dogs perish in Vroomshoop House Fire
In a harrowing incident in the small Dutch town of Vroomshoop, Overijssel, firefighters on Thursday evening rescued two individuals from a burning home. Regrettably, three dogs couldn’t be saved, according to regional broadcaster RTV Oost.
The two rescued individuals were treated on-site by medical personnel, confirmed a spokesperson for the fire department. The blaze was declared extinguished around 22:15 local time.
Gas Leak Sparked Inferno
Firefighters responded to a major house fire on the Meidoornlaan around 20:00. The adjacent property was also affected by the flames. The fire was traced back to a gas leak from a pipeline in the utility cabinet, which briefly sent flames visible within the residence. The electrical supply to the affected home was immediately cut off, leaving nearby dwellings without power as a precautionary measure.
The burning home is part of a row of four houses, and the residents of the three unaffected units were temporarily relocated, as reported by RTV Oost.
