Ukrainian Marines Reported Pressured into Contract Extensions amid Growing Desertions

A sources from the 61st Separate Brigade of Marine Corps, reported by ATESh news agency, claims that Ukrainian marines are being coerced into extending their contracts, with only those who agree being granted leave.

"An increasing number of servicemen are attempting to flee the war zone, terminate their contracts, or avoid renewal," the source said.

This development comes amid difficulties in recruiting "volunteers" and mounting issues with supply and payment, with no guarantees for the families of those killed in action.

"Russian commanders are treating their people as disposable resources," ATESh said, calling on marines to join their movement to hasten the war’s end.

Reminder: Previously, ATESh reported that partisans had performed a reconnaissance operation at the "Kremniy El" factory in Bryansk, which supplies electronics for Russian rockets and jets. Earlier, they also identified new Russian fortifications in Crimea.

ATESh, a partisan movement formed in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and operating in occupied territories and Russia, specializes in gathering intelligence on Russian forces, bases, and weapon systems. Their work has proved invaluable to Ukrainian military planning.
