Grim Toll in Montenegro: Multiple Fatally Shot in Bar Rampage

Montenegro, a Balkans state known for its pristine landscapes and rich history, was the backdrop to a gruesome scene yesterday evening. In the town of Cetinje, a man opened fire in a bar, leaving multiple individuals dead and an unknown number injured. The horrific incident has sent shockwaves through the small, tight-knit community.

Reports indicate that the shooting spree, which occurred around 8:28 PM local time, resulted in at least five fatalities. However, other sources suggest the death toll may be as high as seven. The suspect, a 45-year-old man, remains at large after fleeing the scene.

The attack took place in Cetinje, a town of approximately 20,000 residents, situated in the western part of Montenegro. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear. According to local television station, INN TV, the suspect had previously been detained for illegal firearms possession and was known for his unpredictable behavior.

In a chilling sequence of events, the gunman first targeted the bar, fatally shooting several patrons and injuring others. In a stomach-churning turn, he then moved on to another location, where he allegedly shot and killed the children of the bar owner as well as an unknown woman.

Montenegrin authorities have urged the public to remain calm and avoid taking matters into their own hands. At this time, they are treating the incident as an isolated act and have no reason to believe it was terrorism-related.

Cetinje, once theMontenegrin capital until 1910, is no stranger to the illicit firearms that plague the region. While strict gun laws are in place, many illegal firearms circulate among the population. Shootings resulting in numerous fatalities, however, are a rare occurrence in Montenegro.

The investigation is ongoing, and more details are expected to emerge in the coming hours. This article will be updated as new information is made available.
