A 28-year-old man lost his life after being stabbed with a knife in the village of Gabarevo, Pavel Banya Municipality, Starozagorski Region, according to police reports. The grim incident occurred during the early hours of New Year’s Day.

Earlier that night, a 26-year-old woman had alerted the Regional Police Directorate in Kazanlak that a heated argument and scuffle between two men was taking place in the village. A police team was promptly dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the 28-year-old man had sustained severe knife wounds to his neck area. He was swiftly transported to a nearby healthcare facility, where he was later pronounced dead.

In the wake of the tragedy, a 49-year-old man has been detained for a period of 24 hours as a potential suspect in the case. The investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the fatal stabbing.

Sadly, this incident follows another act of violence in the region, where an 11-year-old child was shot and injured in the Haskovsko area. Our thoughts go out to the families affected by these grim occurrences as they navigate through these trying times.
