Elderly Couple Rescued from House Fire in Oss
An elderly man and woman were rescued from a house fire in Oss on Thursday evening by responding police officers. The fire consumed a residence on the Braakstraat, and both individuals were transported to the hospital by ambulance.
The fire was reported shortly before 6:30 p.m. to emergency services. Officers initially assisted the man out of the burning house, followed by the woman. No other individuals were present inside the dwelling at the time of the incident.
According to the fire department, the blaze originated from an open fireplace. The exact cause of the fire remains unclear, and the condition of the elderly couple is not yet known.
Previous Fire Incident
This is not the first time the residence has experienced a fire. In late March, a pan left unattended on the stove filled the house with smoke. Thankfully, the occupants were not present during that incident.
In order to extinguish the 2024 blaze, emergency services had to smash a window and forcefully open the front door.
