Hidden behind the facade of a bunker used for drug trafficking, they found an illegal slaughterhouse complete with refrigeration units brimming with vacuum-sealed beef cuts. The meat, estimated to weigh around 700 kilograms, is believed to have been stolen from local farms.
"This is a blatant violation of health codes and animal welfare laws," said a spokesperson for the local police department. "Moreover, the criminals behind this operation are showing a callous disregard for the impact their actions have on the local economy and community."
The unauthorized slaughterhouse was not the only grim discovery made by police. In parallel operations carried out in parallel in Buenos Aires, they found another 300 kilograms of beef, further highlighting the scale of the problem.
