President Prabowo Subianto Launches Free Health Check-Up and Screening Program Starting 2025 with Rp 4.7 Trillion Allocation

In a significant move towards improving public health, President Prabowo Subianto is set to launch a free health check-up and screening program starting February 2025. The program, aimed at benefiting all segments of Indonesian society, has been allocated a substantial budget of Rp 4.7 trillion from the State Budget (APBN) 2025, as announced by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).
The PCO’s spokesperson, Dedek Prayudi, underscored the president’s commitment to holistic health, stating, "The president’s approach to health isn’t merely about treating illness, but also promoting preventive and proactive measures. This program, targeting the entire population, underlines that commitment."
The program seeks to tackle health issues proactively by focusing on preventative care, targeting conditions like hypertension, high cholesterol, and even heart disease. With the allocated budget, it aims to provide comprehensive health checks to tens of millions of Indonesians.
Prayudi highlighted the program’s extensive scope, stating, "Almost equivalent to the population of Cimahi City in West Java, the Prabowo-Gibran administration considers this a pressing issue that demands special attention."
Starting from 2025, the program will be rolled out in phases, targeting 60 million people in the first year and aiming to reach 200 million in five years. The program isn’t limited to cardiovascular diseases but extends to other age-specific conditions, including genetic disorders in infants, obesity and diabetes in adolescents, and various forms of cancer in adults, and age-related illnesses in the elderly.
In a unique touch, the PCO announced a special surprise for those celebrating their birthdays in 2025. "Those who receive these services and have birthdays in early 2025 will get a special birthday treat from President Prabowo," said Prayudi, encouraging citizens to make use of this opportunity to prioritize their health.
With an emphasis on preventive care, prompt detection, and early intervention, President Prabowo’s health check-up and screening program is poised to significantly augment Indonesia‘s public health landscape.
