TNI AU Denies Involvement in toll road fatal shooting; Alleges Misinformation
TNI AU’s Disciplinary and Security Office (Dispamsanau) and Military Police of the Air Force (Pomau) are investigating claims that one of the suspects in the shooting death of two car rental business owners on the Tangerang-Merak toll road is a member of the Air Force. In a statement released on its official Twitter account, TNI AU confirmed that no Air Force personnel were involved in the incident.
"Our thorough investigation, conducted by Dispamsanau, Pomau, and coordinated with the Tangerang Police Resort’s Criminal Investigation Unit, found no involvement of Air Force personnel in the incident," said the statement. TNI AU reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the law and maintaining the integrity of its personnel.

Meanwhile, the Naval Police Center (Puspomal) has arrested an alleged mastermind linked to the shooting incident. The suspect, an active naval member, is currently undergoing intense questioning at Puspomal headquarters. No official statement has been released regarding the suspect’s identity, the timeline of the arrest, or the motive behind the shooting.
Original Incident Details
Four suspects are believed to be involved in the fatal shooting and attempted car theft, which occurred at 04:30 WIB on January 2nd, 2025. The incident stemmed from a dispute over aHonda Brio car, seemingly stolen using GPS tracking and later found at a rest area on the toll road. The Richardson ("IA", 48) and the driver ("R", 59) were shot while trying to retrieve their car. Richardson was killed, and the driver was injured.
Adding to the ongoing investigation, Aji Supriatna ("AS") was arrested in Pandeglang, believed to be the first person who rented the car before it was stolen. AS was apprehended at his hideout in Pandeglang and is currently detained for further questioning.
