Storm’s Lull Before East Norway‘s Snow Deluge
After a tumultuous 24 hours, Norway’s weather took a brief respite asparts of Southern Norway and Eastern Norway basked in fair weather. However, relief is fleeting as a fresh snowstorm is set to strike the region over Easter, according to VG.
The polar low that has been lashing Møre og Romsdal and parts of Trøndelag is showing no signs of abating, with meteorologists predicting another 20-30 centimeters of snow in the coming days.
Per Egil Haga, duty meteorologist at the Meteorological Institute, told VG that while challenges persist through Friday and Saturday, the storm’s intensity has eased, warranting a decrease in the danger level from orange to yellow.
Prospects for a repeat of last winter’s extreme cold spells in January and February seem slim, but Haga warns that more snow is on the way.
"Monday and Tuesday are expected to be quite challenging in Eastern and Southern Norway, with tricky traffic conditions. We’re anticipating 20-30 centimeters of snow in many parts of these regions during Monday and Tuesday," Haga said.
Brace yourself for another round of winter’s fury, as Norway’s weather offers no promises of a calm Easter.
