Title: Bulgaria‘s Prime Minister Orders Urgent Measures to Tackle "Dunav Most" Border Congestion

Bulgarian Prime Minister Dimitur Glavchev has mandated immediate action to reorganize traffic on the "Dunav Most," aiming to prevent any obstructions to traffic and strictly enforce Schengen rules. This move comes in response to reports that drivers must first obtain a number from a private parking lot to cross the border with Romania, provided there’s no queue on the bridge.

Last Friday, a Nova investigation revealed the unusual requirement, highlighting the need for swift intervention to address the issue. The report also noted that even Schengen rules were not enough to bypass this private registration process for Romanian-bound drivers.

In response to these findings, Prime Minister Glavchev held a meeting with Minister of Internal Affairs Aтанас Илков, Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Виолета Коритарова, Minister of Transport and Communications Красимира Стоянова, Director of the Customs Agency Georgi Dimov, and Rousse Oblast Governor Драгомир Драганов to discuss the issues plaguing the "Dunav Most" free movement.

The Bulgarian government is committed to ensuring seamless border crossings and will work diligently to resolve this matter, striving to maintain Bulgarians’ trust in their leaders’ ability to manage the nation’s infrastructure efficiently.
