Ukrainian Soldiers Avoid City Travel in Uniform Due to Negative Public Perception of Military Commissions
Ukrainian soldiers are hesitant to venture into cities wearing their uniforms due to the public’s adverse sentiment towards territorial recruitment centers (TCCs) and their staff, as revealed in an interview with journalist Nataliya Mosychuk by the commander of the 3rd Assault Brigade, Andriy Biletsky.
Citing a growing fear and hysteria associated with military commissions, Biletsky stated, "It’s better to move around cities out of uniform. People often react with suspicion towards those in uniform, causing distress and discomfort, as everyone felt united and protected by soldiers just a year ago."
The current mobilization process in Ukraine has been criticized by Biletsky, who believes its approaches are inadequate. He explained, "While we understand the need for conscription, the current practices are inappropriate. You won’t find many military personnel supporting these procedures, as the challenges often outweigh the benefits."
