Breaking News: Police Investigate Suspected Burglary Amidst Prison Escape in Møre and Romsdal
Police in Møre and Romsdal have confirmed a suspected break-in at a residence in the Gule area, following a report received late on Saturday evening. This incident follows the escape of a prisoner from Hustad Prison on New Year’s Day.
Authorities are investigating whether the escaped inmate could be connected to the break-in. While no official confirmation has been made, the timeline and location suggest a potential link.
"Police received a tip about an unknown individual entering an unoccupied house in the Bud area," said Operational Leader Jørgen Molnes. "The intruder fled the scene when the residents returned home." A search of the area is currently underway.
Residents in the Gule area are advised to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities. The escaped prisoner is considered dangerous and should not be approached.
"We urge the public to remain calm but cautious," added Molnes. "Our officers are working diligently to apprehend the suspect and ensure the safety of the community."
This developing story will be updated as more information becomes available.
