Fatal Crash on Rosario – Santa Fe Highway: One Dead, Woman Rescued
A pedestrian alerted authorities at the AU01 toll booth on Friday morning, reporting an accident with people trapped in a vehicle on the Rosario-Santa Fe highway. The incident occurred at 7:45 AM and led to a tragic outcome.
Upon arrival, security forces found a man lying on the central reservation, while a woman remained trapped inside a white Chevrolet Spin. Emergency services managed to rescue the woman and summoned immediate medical assistance.
The scene was chaotic, with a damaged vehicle and personal belongings scattered across the highway. Eyewitnesses reported seeing debris strewn across the road, posing a risk to other motorists.
Paramedics and police quickly arrived on the scene. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. Pereyra. The woman, who was driving the car, suffered injuries but was reported to be out of danger.
Bomberos Zapadores from San Lorenzo rushed to the scene to secure the area and assist with rescue efforts. The Fiscalía de Flagrancia, led by prosecutor Carlos Ortigoza, ordered the necessary legal procedures and assigned the case to the Policía de Investigación (PDI) for further investigation.
This incident serves as a grim reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for drivers to remain vigilant, especially on heavily trafficked highways like the Rosario-Santa Fe route. The discovery of the accident was made possible thanks to the alertness of a passerby, highlighting the potential consequences of distracted driving or driving under the influence.
While the exact cause of the accident awaits further investigation, authorities urge motorists to exercise caution and adhere to traffic laws to prevent similar tragedies. The community mourns the loss of life and extends sympathies to the family of the deceased.
