Evelyn, a resident of Liosmór, Cappagh Road, Barna, and ‘The Weirs’, Tuam, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, December 27th, 2025. She was predeceased by her father, Bert.
Remembering Evelyn
Evelyn is survived by her mother, Bríd, and her siblings Pauline (Waldron), Bernadette (Finnegan), and Jarlath. She is also remembered by her nieces and nephew, Ailish, Niall, and Emer, as well as her brothers-in-law, James and Tommie. Her passing will be felt by a wide circle of relatives, neighbours, and former work colleagues at the Galway Advertiser.
A period of repose will be held at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, located at Munster Avenue, (H91 V1K8) on Tuesday, December 30th, 2025, beginning at 4.30 p.m. Following this, Evelyn will be removed to The Cathedral of the Assumption, Tuam, at 6.30 p.m.
Funeral Arrangements
The Requiem Mass will take place on Wednesday, December 31st, 2026, at 11.30 a.m. at The Cathedral of the Assumption, Tuam. Following the Mass, Evelyn will be laid to rest in Kilbannon cemetery.
The Funeral Mass will be live streamed at https://mcn.live/Camera/cathedral-of-the-assumption-of-the-blessed-virgin-mary-tuam and will also be broadcast locally on Parish Radio 108FM. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to a charity of one’s choice in Evelyn’s memory.
Attendees are advised to approach the funeral parlour on foot from Fr. Burke Park. Limited street parking may be available on Fr. Griffin Road, within Claddagh, on Henry Street and Sea Road. Car parks within walking distance include those at The Claddagh Church, Spanish Arch, and Mill Street, near the Garda Station.
