A 24-year-old woman, Gudiya, was allegedly murdered by her in-laws in Rajasthan’s Dholpur district, police reported on Sunday. The incident centers around alleged dowry demands and occurred at her matrimonial home in Inchhapura village.

Gudiya’s father, Devendra Singh Parmar, stated that Rs 15 lakh in cash, along with a motorcycle, household items, and jewellery, were provided as dowry upon her marriage to Pankaj Thakur on May 28, 2025. Despite this, the in-laws allegedly demanded additional dowry – a car, a gold chain, and a buffalo – and subjected Gudiya to both mental and physical abuse.
Mr. Parmar also alleged that his daughter was frequently assaulted by her husband, who reportedly suspected her of infidelity. Police have indicated they are investigating this claim.
