A teenage boy was seriously wounded in West Auckland last night following a fight between two groups of young people. Police responded to reports of a disorder incident on Sunvue Rd in Glen Eden around 11:55 PM.

Upon arrival, officers found the groups had already dispersed. However, a teenage boy was discovered with a serious wound to his arm, according to Acting Detective Inspector Megan Goldie. The injured teen was taken to Auckland City Hospital in moderate condition by St John ambulance services, who were called to Libra St at 11:57 PM.
Following the incident, police stopped a stolen car containing seven youths. A search of the vehicle revealed a machete and a baseball bat, Acting Detective Inspector Goldie stated. “Inquiries are ongoing to identify the offender,” she said.
