Ryder Cup 2027: Volunteer Opportunities Open at Adare Manor
Applications are now open for volunteers to play a vital role in the 2027 Ryder Cup, set to take place at Adare Manor in County Limerick, Ireland. The European Tour Group is seeking 2,000 individuals to support deliver what is anticipated to be the largest sporting event ever staged in Ireland, coinciding with the iconic competition’s 100th anniversary.
Two Paths to Participation: Ambassador and Marshal Roles
Volunteers have a choice between two distinct roles. The traditional on-course Marshal position will continue, focusing on the smooth operation of play. This includes assisting with grandstands, individual holes, accessibility areas, and on-course transport. Organisers are looking for confident communicators with a good understanding of golf for this role.
A new “Ambassador” role has been introduced to enhance the overall fan experience. Ambassadors will be the face of Irish hospitality, stationed at key locations like transport hubs, golf course entrances, and the Fan Village, guiding visitors from around the globe. No prior golf knowledge is required for this position – enthusiasm and a collaborative mindset are key.
High Demand: Over 24,000 Expressions of Interest
Interest in volunteering is already exceptionally high, with over 24,000 people having registered their interest via the Ryder Cup website. Those who have pre-registered will be contacted directly by Ryder Cup Europe with instructions on completing the application form.
The application window closes on April 1, 2026. Successful applicants will be notified in August, with further details about their specific role provided in November.
Kit Gartrell, Ryder Cup Event Delivery Director at the European Tour Group, emphasized the significance of the event: “The 2027 Ryder Cup will be the biggest sporting event that Ireland has ever staged and the world will be watching. Our volunteers will have the opportunity to be at the heart of this iconic event and be part of history.”
A Second Irish Hosting
This will be the second time Ireland has hosted the Ryder Cup, following the successful event held at The K Club in Kildare in 2006.
