The Alamogordo High School swimming teams competed at the Griffin Invitational in Santa Fe, Novel Mexico, this past weekend, Friday and Saturday, at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center. The meet is a key early-season competition for swimmers across New Mexico, serving as preparation for the upcoming state championships.
Girls’ Team Performance
The Lady Tigers finished 10th in the combined girls’ team standings. Rachel Carmody qualified for the state meet in the 50 Free with a time of 26.19. The team also achieved a 9th-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay (Temperance Covell, Teagan Green, Rachel Carmody, Maeve Wierzbanowski, 2:18.36).
Boys’ Team Performance
The Tigers boys’ squad placed 14th demonstrating depth in distance events.
