Manager, Sterile Processing – San Diego, CA – Kaiser Permanente

• Location: San Diego, California – Zion Medical Center
• Schedule: Full‑time, day shift (08:00 AM – 04:00 PM)
• Compensation: $96,500 – $124,850 annually

• Delegate and monitor collection, decontamination, assembly, sterilization and disinfection of instruments, and equipment.
• Ensure surgical trays and case carts are prepared correctly.
• Develop, implement and audit sterile‑processing policies and procedures.
• Manage departmental inventory, record‑keeping and cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Identify training needs, lead staff training and develop new competency programs.
• Partner with other department leaders to secure efficient and safe instrument availability.
• Oversee regulatory compliance, conduct audits and drive corrective‑action plans.

• Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience (with or without direct reports).
• Minimum four (4) years of experience in sterile processing or reusable medical/surgical equipment handling.
• Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, Public Health, Health Sciences, Business or a related field, plus either:
  • Four (4) years of relevant experience, or
  • Seven (7) years of relevant experience.
• Required certification: Sterile Processing Distribution Technician or Registered Central Service Technician.
• Additional knowledge, skills and abilities include cost optimization, facilities management, compliance management, quality‑assurance, safety management, medical waste management, infection control, operational excellence, inventory planning and many others listed in the posting.
• Preferred certifications: Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER) or Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER); Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) or Management in Sterile Processing (CSPM).
