The Vodacom Bulls are making significant changes to their roster as they prepare for the departure of Springbok Kurt-Lee Arendse. Johan Ackermann has secured the services of winger Dylan Maart, bringing him over from the Stormers.
Bulls Secure Key Player
Arendse is set to continue his career in Japan later this year. Ackermann moved to sign Maart, who was playing for the Stormers on loan from Griquas as part of a development agreement. Maart will join the Bulls after the 2026 Currie Cup campaign, returning to represent the “Peacock Blues.”
The 29-year-old Maart, originally from Paarl, has been a standout player for the Stormers this season, performing well in both the URC and the Investec Champions Cup. Stormers director of rugby John Dobson previously expressed a desire to retain Maart in Cape Town.
Maart has been coached by Pieter Bergh at Griquas since 2024. He now faces the challenge of filling the position left vacant by Arendse at Loftus Versfeld.
The Bulls are also reportedly set to add Sharks utility back Hakeem Kunene to their backline later this year.
