AIDS Walk Ohio is recognized as one of the largest events in the state dedicated to raising awareness and securing funding for HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention. The 5K run/walk will commence at 10:30 a.m., preceded by a pre-race party at 9:30 a.m. Individuals who do not register online can do so in person starting at 9 a.m.
Rob DuVall, Director of Events for Equitas Health, stated, “We are thrilled to bring back AIDS Walk Ohio to our community this year.” He acknowledged progress in AIDS research but emphasized that “there is still a lot more to be done,” and described April 18 as “an incredible day to honor those who have sadly passed, those currently living with HIV/AIDS, and those who have dedicated their lives to identify a cure.”
A Name Rooted in Dedication
The walk is named in memory of Dr. Robert J. Fass, an internationally respected infectious diseases expert, scientist, and teacher affiliated with The Ohio State University medical faculty. Dr. Fass passed away in 2002.
