The 2026 Producers Guild Awards are taking place Saturday night at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.
Producers Guild Awards: Key Contenders and Industry Concerns
The ceremony’s most prestigious honor, the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures, is widely considered a strong indicator of Oscar success due to the similar membership size and voting systems of both organizations. This year’s nominees for the award are Bugonia, F1, Frankenstein, Hamnet, Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another, Sentimental Value, Sinners, Train Dreams, and Weapons.
In total, 10 categories will be presented, recognizing achievements in both film and television. Early winners announced prior to Saturday’s ceremony include KPop Demon Hunters, The Studio, My Mom Jayne: A Film by Mariska Hargitay, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Additional awards presented beforehand went to Formula 1: Drive to Survive, Sesame Street, Adolescence: The Making of Adolescence, and The Wizard of Oz.
Beyond the competitive awards, the Producers Guild will also present three special honors: Amy Pascal will receive the David O. Selznick Award, Jason Blum the Milestone Award, and Mara Brock Akil the Norman Lear Award. Ralph Farquhar presented the Norman Lear Award to Brock Akil, who spoke of navigating systems “not built with me in mind.”
PGA executive director Susan Sprung addressed both current global events and industry consolidation, acknowledging events in the Middle East and expressing concern over the Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery deal. She affirmed the guild’s commitment to advocating for producers and protecting the industry’s vitality.
