Marie O’Connor, formerly of Gortskeagh, Charleville, Co. Cork, and Ploughlands, Croom, Co. Limerick, passed away peacefully on March 6th, 2026.
A Life Remembered
Mrs. O’Connor died in the care of Charleville Nursing Home, surrounded by family, following a long illness. She was predeceased by her parents, Sheila and Thomas.
She is survived by her husband, PJ, and her children, Noreen (Reidy), Helen (Hannon), Pat, Tommy, and Louise. Her family as well includes sons-in-law Mark and Michael, Louise’s partner Alan Curtin, daughters-in-law Mary and Rose, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is also remembered by her brothers, John and David, as well as sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbors, and friends.
Funeral Arrangements
Reposing will take place on Sunday, March 8th, at St. Mary’s Church, Croom, beginning at 6pm, with evening prayers at 7:30pm. The Funeral Mass is scheduled for Monday, March 9th, at 12 noon, with burial to follow in Reilig Mhuire, Croom.
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Irish Wheelchair Association or The Multiple Sclerosis Society.
