Employers who submitted declarations of support for their employees to take Class 4 or 4P lessons since September 15, 2025, can now book the mandatory road assessment starting March 13. The assessment evaluates a driver’s competency in real-world traffic conditions, covering skills like vehicle control, signaling, and adherence to traffic laws.
The road assessment fee will mirror the revised practical test fee of $40, and is also subject to the same progressive increases to $45 in 2027 and $50 in 2028. Additional costs, including vehicle rental and administrative charges, will be imposed by driving schools.
Failure to pass the road assessment will result in the revocation of a Class 3C or 3CA license, with a one-year restriction on obtaining any driving license.
